Donald Trump Blasted After ‘Mocking Reporters Disability’

Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has once again come under fire after he appeared to mock a reporter’s disability.

The billionaire was speaking at a rally in South Carolina when he mentioned the recent controversy about his comments that “thousands” of Muslims celebrated the 9/11 attacks in New York.

He then referenced a 2001 article by Washington Post reporter Serge Kovaleski, while appearing to mock his disability at the same time.

The article contained details of police in Jersey City detaining and questioning “a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the [9/11] attacks”.

Kovaleski, who suffers from a chronic condition that impairs the movement of his arms, has since stated that he didn’t remember “anyone saying there were thousands, or even hundreds, of people celebrating”.

Trump highlighted the reporter’s defence before flailing his arms about and saying: “Now the poor guy - you ought to see the guy: ‘Er I don’t know what I said. I don’t remember.’

“He’s going, ‘I don’t remember. Maybe that’s what I said.’”

A New York Times spokesman blasted Trump, telling Politico: “We think it’s outrageous that he would ridicule the appearance of one of our reporters.”

Trump himself has so far not responded to the incident, while Kovaleski is sure the Republican and business mogul would remember his condition.

He told the Washington Post: ”The sad part about it is, it didn’t in the slightest bit jar or surprise me that Donald Trump would do something this low-rent, given his track record.”
