Donald Trump just tweeted about the wrong mass shooting
Donald Trump has responded to a mass shooting in California by appearing to confuse it with another killing spree that happened over a week ago.
Four people were killed in Northern California yesterday after a gunman opened fire in a number of locations, including an elementary school.
The President tweeted shortly afterwards: ‘May God be with the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI and Law Enforcement has arrived.’

A mass shooting took place at a baptist church in Sutherland Springs on 5 November, leaving 26 people dead.
Trump’s tweet this morning closely mirrors one he sent in the wake of the shooting earlier this month.
May God be w/ the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI & law enforcement are on the scene. I am monitoring the situation from Japan.

His statement this morning left people baffled, and was met with accusations that Trump had ‘copied and pasted’ a previous message and forgotten to change the location.
He used the same tweet for Texas and California. Forgot to change State. Another rubber stamp. Disrespectful. Careless. pic.twitter.com/sDKQSAnT2t

Yesterday’s deadly shooting in California began in Rancho Tehama, a rural community 120 miles from Sacramento.
The gunman killed four people and injured a further 10, before attempting to enter an elementary school. He was later shot dead by police.
School officials managed to initiate a lockdown and no children were harmed.
Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston said that the school staff’s decisions saved children’s lives.
He told reporters: ‘The shooter literally took his vehicle and rammed their fence and gate, entered the grounds on foot with a semiautomatic rifle.’
Two of the victims were neighbours of the unidentified shooter.
‘It was a bizarre and murderous rampage,’ Sheriff Johnston said.

He added the 45-minute spree ended when a patrol car rammed the stolen vehicle the shooter was driving and killed him in a shootout.
Mr Johnston said the shooter was facing charges of assaulting one of the feuding neighbours in January and that she had a restraining order against him.
‘I think the motive of getting even with his neighbours and when it went that far – he just went on a rampage,’ the Sheriff said, confirming that there was a “domestic violence” report on Monday involving the gunman, but did not provide any further details.
At least one of the victims has life-threatening injuries.
Mr Johnston declined to identify the shooter until his relatives were notified, but he confirmed the gunman was charged with assault in January and had a restraining order placed against him.
The district attorney, Gregg Cohen, told the Sacramento Bee he is prosecuting a man named Kevin Neal in that case.
