Donald Trump mocked for misspellings in Alec Baldwin Twitter feud

The early hours at the White House are reserved for two activities — sleeping or tweeting — and this morning, President Trump chose Twitter.

His target: Alec Baldwin, who often impersonates the president on Saturday Night Live. The 59-year-old actor recently told the Hollywood Reporter that playing Trump is “agony.” “Every time I do it now, it’s like agony. Agony. I can’t,” Baldwin said. “My wife and I agreed that we’re gonna give it everything we have [to help defeat Trump in 2020]. And then, if God forbid, he wins again in 2020, I’m wondering, can I host a game show in Spain?”

Those words did not sit well with the president, who responded by lashing out at Baldwin on Twitter.

Arguably, the jab was deserved; Baldwin did insult the president in the interview. But Trump lost all his leverage with the tweet, thanks to his many mistakes. First, he misspelled “dying,” writing “dieing.” He then called Alec Baldwin “Alex.” Oddly enough, he drafted the tweet a total of three times, fixing the mistakes, but made the Alex mishap twice.

Twitter relentlessly mocked the president.

Baldwin quickly chimed in, responding to the president with his own series of insults.

That one had to hurt. And yet Trump did not reciprocate. Instead, the president attended a memorial service for evangelical leader Billy Graham. As for who won the Twitter battle — the internet has spoken: Alec Baldwin is crowned king.
