Donald Trump ridiculed for tweet about empowering women
Social media users have reacted with ridicule to a tweet posted by Donald Trump claiming to empower women.
President Trump tweeted on Thursday: "Only by enlisting the full potential of women in our society will we be truly able to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain."
He also said American women in every generation had shown grit, courage and devotion.
But people on Twitter have been pointing out that his comments are somewhat contradictory to previous statements he has made about women.

Women have responded to the tweet by sending pictures of themselves holding signs with some of Mr Trump’s quotes written on them.
One says: “You know it doesn’t really matter what they write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.”

Another reads: “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America.”
Others have referred to Mr Trump’s, now infamous, comments made in 2005 where he spoke about “grab[bing]” women “by the p****”.
And many Twitter users have cited the lack of women in his administration – pointing out a photo of Mr Trump signing an order banning money for international groups providing abortions.
