A new dating app has been launched to try and help young President Donald Trump supporters find love and companionship in a polarised modern America.

DonaldDaters was launched on Monday, marking the latest smartphone app to cater to bachelors and bachelorettes of specific political beliefs.

“For many young Trump supporters, liberal intolerance has made meeting and dating nearly impossible,” Emily Moreno, CEO of Donald Daters, said in a statement provided to Fox News. “Support for the president has become a deal breaker instead of an icebreaker. That's why we created a new platform for Trump supporters to meet people without being afraid of talking politics.”

The app comes as politics has seeped into personal lives in a way unseen in modern times, with the polarisation in Washington making it especially difficult for Republicans on dating apps in liberal cities like New York or DC.

In reports during the Trump administration, young republicans and conservatives in Washington reported receiving backlash on dating apps and in the dating scene. While initial conversations — say, small talk — remain largely the same, young conservatives have said, the conversation often devolves as soon as they indicate they voted for Mr Trump over his opponent, Hillary Clinton

DonaldDaters allows its users to block liberal users who they think are on the site to troll them, and shows 25 potential matches to the app users for free. Additional matches can be purchased through the app.

The new app for future right wing love birds is not the first time that the president has inspired dating apps, either.

Earlier this year, the liberal group American Liberal Council created NeverTrump.Dating, which it marketed as “an all-inclusive, love-pairing dating site for those who oppose and resist President Donald Trump”.

Other more established apps like OKCupid have entered into the political fray as well, with an option to display a sticker that indicates a users’ support for Planned Parenthood.
