Donohoe ‘unaware’ people were paid to put up his posters in 2016 and 2020

Minister for public expenditure Paschal Donohoe has said he was unaware people were paid to put up posters before the 2016 and 2020 general election, when making official declarations. He also said Fine Gael received an “unauthorised” corporate donation of commercial vans, used to put up posters in 2020, worth 434.20 euro, which exceeded the maximum allowable donation of 200 euro. The breach has been reported to the ethics watchdog Sipo, he said, which is reviewing Mr Donohoe’s expenses declarations over the 2016 election posters.
