'Don't fight evolution': Miley Cyrus speaks out on Liam Hemsworth split and taunts Brody Jenner over kiss with his ex

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s split has already got complicated, with the singer sharing a rambling post about “evolution” - and then appearing to taunt the ex of the woman she’s been pictured kissing.

Wrecking Ball singer Cyrus and Hunger Games star Hemsworth announced on Sunday that they were calling an end to their seven-month marriage, although the pair’s relationship had been on and off for up to 10 years before they married.

Later, Cyrus, on a girls’ holiday with The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter in Italy, shared her thoughts on her future without her husband.

Captioning snaps of herself hiking through the mountains, she wrote: “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable.

“The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed.

“My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’...it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true.

“I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own...”

Just before the couple confirmed their split, Cyrus was pictured kissing her holiday partner Carter, who has also recently announced her own marriage break-up from The Hills star and son of Caitlyn Jenner, Brody Jenner.

But when Jenner dared to make a joke about the awkward circumstances, Cyrus was quick to hit back.

Jenner had shared his own Instagram selfie captioned: “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.”

When someone commented referring to the kiss pics, he replied: “Watch out! Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon.”

But Cyrus had obviously been keeping tabs on the conversation, as she waded in with: “@brodyjenner go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer”

Hemsworth is said to have extended a trip to his native Australia for three weeks.

On Sunday, Cyrus’s rep had released a statement about her client and Hemsworth, reading: “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.

“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart.”
