Doorbell Cam Shows Suspects Opening Fire on Homeowners in Carson, California

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department asked the public on December 29 to help identify two suspects who opened fire on homeowners in Carson, California, a week earlier.

This doorbell camera footage, provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, shows a suspect knocking on the door and gunfire erupting shortly after on December 21. Deputies said a resident thought a family member was at the door, but she instead saw two strangers “pointing guns in her direction.”

The woman’s husband was also near the door at the time of the shooting, but neither were injured.

A detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told local media authorities were investigating if the incident was a case of mistaken identity. The couple moved into their home on East Turmont Street about four months previously and have “no known enemies,” according to reports. Credit: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department via Storyful
