Doorbell Camera Captures 'Blue Light' of Meteor Over Missouri

A clear view of the meteor that lit up the Midwest sky on November 11 was captured by the doorbell camera of Missouri woman Elizabeth Prager.

Prager posted the footage to Facebook that evening, showing the bright, blueish light of the meteor streaking across the sky over her home city of Troy.

The American Meteor Society said it received more than 120 reports from eight states about a meteor sighting. Reports of the sighting were received from around 8:52 pm. The Ring camera owned by Prager shows 8:51 pm.

The society said the meteor traveled from east to west toward Wellsville, Missouri, less than an hour away from Troy. Credit: Elizabeth Prager via Storyful
