Dora the Explorer: Watch the first trailer from live-action movie City of Gold

The first trailer for Dora and the Lost City of Gold has been released by Paramount Pictures.

The live-action film is based on Nickelodeon's popular, long-running animated series Dora the Explorer.

It stars Eva Longoria, Michael Peña, and Isabela Moner in the title role. Benicio Del Toro is set to voice Swiper, the thieving fox

In the trailer, Dora is seen attending high school for the first time after spending most of her life in the jungle with her parents.

Despite being told to stay in the city while her parents search for the City of Gold, Dora finds herself leading her monkey/best friend Boots (voiced by Danny Trejo), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg) and a group of her schoolmates on an adventure to save her parents and solve the mystery of the lost city.

The film is directed by James Bobin, with Julia Pistor, John G Scottiserving, and Derbez as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Nicholas Stoller and Matthew Robinson from a story by Tom Wheeler.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is released on cinemas on 2 August.
