The good news is that Dot Branning is back driving once again after her recent eyesight problems in a clip from Thursday's EastEnders.

But is her vision good enough to keep her and 2-year-old passenger Matthew safe?

The new trailer begins with Dot thanking her satnav for directions - glad we're not the only ones!

"Thank you!" she exclaims. "Ever so well spoken, isn't she Matt?" addressing her great-grandson sat next to her in his carseat.

Dot then proceeds to ask Matthew: "I don't suppose your daddy has talked to you about Lent? No he won't, you're far too little.

"It's all about Jesus you see. He gave up his life for us - so we can be let into heaven. So we have to give something up for him."

Dot tells Matthew: "Oh you're such a good boy - sitting there in your special seat. Your real daddy, he'd be ever so proud of you."

Though innocent little Matthew isn't old enough to understand what Dot is saying to him, he looks curiously up at his great-grandmother.

Almost shaking away the thought of her grandson Charlie, Dot then says: "Let's have some music, shall we?" and switches on her radio.

Find out where Dot and Matthew are heading to - and if Dot's eyesight holds out - when EastEnders returns to BBC One on Thursday, February 23 at 7.30pm.
