Dothan man charged with trying to run away with officer handcuffs during arrest, police

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — A Dothan man is charged with trying to escape from custody after police say he ran away after being handcuffed.

According to Dothan Police, on Friday, January 26, patrol officers came upon Jaquan Coring in the 200 block of West Main Street and discovered he was wanted on a felony warrant from a nearby agency.

Police say the officer started to take Coring into custody, and after handcuffing his hands behind his back, Coring ran but was caught after a short foot chase.

In addition to the warrant, Coring was charged with escape in the third degree and booked into the Houston County Jail on the $15,000 bond.
