The moment a school bus crashed into a house in a small village has been captured in shocking photo.

Emergency services were called to Mansfield Road in Underwood at around 9am, with local residents reporting the incident brought the area to a standstill.

It is believed no school pupils were onboard the bus at the time.

Witnesses at the scene said the "Skills" school bus, operated by Nottinghamshire County Council, was carrying only the driver.

Details about injuries or those involved have not yet been released by East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Nottinghamshire Police cordoned off the area and closed the busy road, disrupting access to the A608, which links the hilltop village to Junction 27 of the M1.

The bus has since been recovered and removed from the scene.
