The double Newcastle United fitness boost on horizon ahead of crunch October
Newcastle United will get a double fitness boost after the international break with two stars destined to return in October.
Head coach Eddie Howe has confirmed that both Callum Wilson and Lewis Miley will be back in contention for a crunch month of fixtures. In October, United will face Brighton (h), Chelsea (a) and potentially the Blues again in the Carabao Cup fourth round should they see off basement boys Wimbledon.
Looking forward to welcoming the duo back to the training field, Howe said: "Calum Wilson's on track to be fit for after the international break, along with, hopefully, Lewis Miley. I think that's pretty much where we are with those guys.

"And, of course, Sven (Botman) and Jamaal (Lascelles) are a little bit further back. Hopefully, some good news is on the horizon (with Lascelles and Botman), but until they're back fully, it's difficult to promise that."
Howe referenced being without "two number 9s" after the 1-1 draw against Man City and he feels the lack of Wilson and Alexander Isak is hurting his squad. Howe said: "Yeah, I think it's been a dynamic that we have certainly missed, and I think the players have missed themselves. Almost last year, they were dovetailing, one was fit, one was missing out, and we never sort of got the strength of having both available.
"The Burnley game sticks in my head towards the back end of last season. We had them both and used them both, and they were excellent together.
"But it's a dynamic that we need, and I think the players need. Whether that's for rotation, so they're both fit and fresh when they play, or whether it's the competition, because two outstanding players fighting for one role can only benefit the performances."
Wilson has not appeared since the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur during a post-season friendly in Melbourne.
