Dougie Poynter And Ellie Goulding Are ‘The Best Of Friends’ After Their Split

Dougie Poynter has opened up about how his relationship with Ellie Goulding is after their split, revealed that the two are still best friends.

Something Ellie herself confirmed last month, when she said the pair have ‘something special’.

Chatting to The Sun as McFly announced their Anthology tour, Dougie explaining he and Ellie still love each other and hung out as BFFs at California’s Coachella Festival.

He said: “We love each other very much. We are the best of friends. We hung out at Coachella, like all day, with her friends and my friends. It was really, really cool. Everything is totally fine.”

Speaking about why the couple’s relationship ended, Dougie added: “It’s just both being all over the place. Like I said, we still get on really well.

“She’s one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. But just right now, it’s hard. I’m single now.”

Dougie is currently focusing on McFly’s upcoming tour and on acting, having signed with talent agency CAA while he’s based out in LA.

He told the paper: “There’s a couple of potential roles circling. They shoot all over so it could be anywhere, but no matter what I think I’ll be spending a lot more time out in LA.

“Overall I’m just happier there.”
