The Crown has found its Lord Snowdon for season two.

RadioTimes.com reports that Downton Abbey's Matthew Goode will play Antony Armstrong-Jones, AKA society photographer Lord Snowdon, in the Netflix hit, which won two Golden Globes earlier this month.

Lord Snowdon was married to Princess Margaret from 1960 to 1978 and recently died at home at the age of 86.

Goode is best known for playing smooth racing driver Henry Talbot in Downton Abbey, eventually marrying Lady Mary.

Season two of The Crown is set to run from the 1956 Suez Crisis through to the mid-1960s. After that, its ENTIRE cast will be changed up for season three, with producers said to already be on the look-out for a new Elizabeth II.

They've only got to follow in the Golden Globe-winning shoes of Claire Foy, so no pressure there.

The reason behind the change is that Netflix plans for the show to run for six seasons and explore the Queen's entire life, with older actors being brought on board to play her and Prince Philip (currently Matt Smith) for later seasons.

Season three is apparently going to include Princess Margaret's five-year affair with baronet and gardening expert Roddy Llewellyn, who was 17 years younger than Margaret.

Before that though, creator Peter Morgan has said that season two will focus more on the two men in the Queen's life: her husband Prince Philip and their eldest son Prince Charles.

The Crown is expected to return for season two on Netflix in November.
