Downtown Tyler parking garage progress may bring traffic disruption

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – Smith County shared an update on the status of the parking garage being built in Downtown Tyler, along with information about upcoming construction.

Smith County shared a video of progress on the Downtown Tyler parking garage which is being built near the Courthouse, they also included an update of the upcoming developments in its construction.

“The 212-foot crane will be as tall as the People’s Bank Building across the downtown square. For the next nine weeks, the crane will be at the site and semi-trucks will be bringing in pre-cast materials every 45 minutes, entering the construction site on Ferguson Street and exiting on Locust Street. Barricades have been placed on Locust and a few parking spaces on Ferguson have been blocked off for the large trucks to come and go.”

Smith County said that they apologize for any inconvenience caused by the construction’s progress, but added that the parking garage is projected to be completed on time.
