Dozens of flood warnings still in place across UK after wintry washout Easter Bank Holiday
Dozens of flood warnings remain in place across the UK after a wet Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
The Environment Agency said heavy rain is set to continue over the next few days and urged people to take extra care and check their flood risk.
According to its website, on Tuesday afternoon 24 flood warnings remained in place, though none were deemed ‘severe’, and there were also 156 flood alerts which mean flooding is possible and people should be prepared.

The Easter weekend proved a wintry washout with torrential rain and snow across large parts of the UK.
Football games in Nottingham, Bradford, Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Chesterfield and Morecambe were postponed due to the inclement weather while the races at Chepstow, Fakenham, Market Rasen, Huntingdon, Redcar and Plumpton were all abandoned on Monday due to waterlogging.

England and Wales were much milder on Tuesday, though snow warnings remained in place in parts of Scotland.
In Northern Ireland, more rain was expected, with travel disruption expected on roads and the rail networks.
Later on this week, scattered showers are expected on Wednesday, while Thursday is set to be mostly dry.
