Dozens Injured as Clashes Erupt in Jerusalem

At least 105 Palestinians and 20 Israeli police officers were injured in clashes in Jerusalem on April 22, according to local reports.

Clashes erupted following a march by the “far-right, anti-Arab” group Lehava, Haaretz reported. Police arrested at least 50 people during the clashes, the report said. Chants of “death to Arabs” and “restore Jewish dignity” were heard at the march, the report said.

Police clashed with Palestinian counter-protesters, using tear gas and water cannons to disperse them, according to the Times of Israel.

A Jewish motorist was attacked and his car set on fire in East Jerusalem, the Times of Israel reported, citing police.

“People” threw stones at Palestinian homes and damaged cars in central Jerusalem, Arab 48 reported.

At least 21 of those injured were transferred to hospital, according to the Palestinian Red Cross.
