Dozens Killed in Suicide Attack on Afghanistan Funeral

A suicide bomber killed at least 24 mourners at a funeral for a local commander in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province on May 12, according to the media outlet Tolo News.

The bombing was one of several deadly assaults in the country on Tuesday, which reportedly claimed the lives of at least 40 people. In Kabul, gunmen targeted a maternity clinic; the government reported that at least “15 mothers and their newborn babies” were killed there.

This footage was taken at a hospital in the provincial capital of Jalalabad following the funeral attack, which was perpetrated by a suicide bomber who blew himself up as mourners lined up to pay respects to the local police commander.
