Dozens Rescued From Ganges Island Amid Deadly Flooding in India's Uttarakhand State

At least 25 people were rescued from an island in the Ganges river on October 19, emergency services said, as heavy rainfall caused deadly flooding in India’s northern Uttarakhand state.

At least 16 people had been killed in the flooding, NDTV reported.

Red alerts were issued by the India Meteorological Department for the region, warning of heavy rainfall over October 18 and 19.
