Dozens Rescued From Sinking Ferry Off Coast of Trieste

Eighty-five people were rescued after a ferry began sinking off the coast of Trieste on Wednesday, June 12, the Italian Coast Guard said.

The Audace was transporting passengers from Trieste to Grado when it sent out a distress signal around five miles from the coast.

Footage released by the coast guard shows the rescue.

The coast guard said that in total 85 people, nine crew and 76 passengers, were rescued and taken to the port of Grado without any injuries.
