Dr Michael Mosley's weight loss trick can help you shed pounds in minutes
Dr Michael Mosley was the weight loss expert with a string of top eating plans to his name. Known for creating diet plans such as the Very Fast 800 diet and the new 5:2 diet, the doctor, who died earlier this year, aimed to help people lose weight without them obsessing over every bite they eat.
But he had a firm belief that for weight loss to be sustainable, it must fit into a person's busy routine. Specialising in healthy weight loss methods that don't disrupt your daily routine or habits, he warned against the demotivation that can come from not having time for proper workouts, which could lead to weight gain.
And one solution was a trick he called "exercise snacking" and which he said was perfect for those with packed work and life schedules who struggle to squeeze in a full workout. He previously told listeners on his podcast Just One Thing, that doing multiple short bursts of exercise throughout the day is more effective than trying to cram it all into one session.

He explained: "Doing exercise in short chunks really can help you burn more calories, lose more weight, and help improve your blood glucose and blood pressure to a greater degree than doing it in larger chunks."
He added: "Stairs are a particularly good way of getting in a few exercise snacks. The surprising thing about exercise snacking is that although each session is short, it gives you the same – possibly even greater – fitness and health benefits than doing a full 30-minute workout."
He suggested that this approach "can really help" people wanting to lose weight if it is done alongside other lifestyle adjustments, including rapid weight loss techniques.
