Drag Race UK has released a first look at Gemma Collins playing the Snatch Game in next week’s episode.
The legendary challenge sees the drag performers impersonating celebrities, and always boasts some of the season’s finest and most spectacular moments.
In the first season of the UK version of RuPaul’s drag contest, Cheryl Hole famously impersonated Gemma Collins in a memorable Snatch Game moment.
Speaking ahead of her appearance on the show, the Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) star said: “Babes. I absolutely love this show. I love the girls. I love the glitter. I love it all. And I love RuPaul. Iconic.”
Collins will be joined in the episode by “What’s Your Pleasure” singer Jessie Ware, who will be sit next to Michelle Visage and Alan Carr on the judging panel in a guest appearance.
Drag Race UK signed Gemma Collins for Snatch Game after weeks of negotiations.
It was first rumoured that Gemma Collins would be making a scene-stealing appearance on Drag Race UK in December, with a source telling the Daily Star that she had managed to find time in her busy schedule after weeks of negotiations.
The source said: “Everyone is thrilled Gemma agreed to be part of the new series. She is a dream signing.
“Snatch Game is all about having a laugh, so Gemma is perfect for it.”
Drag Race UK finally started airing in January after months of delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The contest has proved a much-needed distraction for queer people across the UK, from… well, you know, everything else that’s going on in the world.
Ginny Lemon made Drag Race UK herstory in last week’s episode (4 February) when she chose to quit the contest instead of lip-syncing for her life after she found herself in the bottom two.
She told PinkNews following her shock departure that she decided to walk away after listening to her “moral and spiritual compass”.
“I went on as an icon and left as an icon, so I’m very pleased with how it all went down in the end,” Lemon said.
Drag Race UK season two continues Thursdays at 7pm on BBC iPlayer.
