Drama as car drives directly OVER roundabout as police cars arrive on scene

Residents have been left shocked after a car drove directly over a roundabout on Monday (March 21) - as police were spotted at the scene of a one-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were seen on the A139 near near Mill Meadow Court in Norton at around 10.35pm following reports of a car driving over a roundabout.

Images released from the scene show a car balanced on top of a roundabout, while a police car can be seen directing other traffic around the roundabout.

Cleveland Police have currently not released further details of the nature of the incident - but residents were left concerned by thefact the car had just continued at the end of a junction.

In the images, a sign on the roundabout could be seen heavily damaged, while tyre marks on the centre of the roundabout could also be seen.

Cleveland Police has been contacted for a comment.
