Drama as Preston Crown Court evacuated after 'incident' announcement
Dozens of people were evacuated from Preston Crown Court this lunchtime after an 'incident' announcement.
Judges, barristers, jurors as well as members of the public and witnesses, were all ordered to leave the Ring Way building - with no further details given. LancsLive's reporter at court said: "At 12.40pm an announcement was made for all supervisors to contact the court manager.
"A few minutes later a second announcement reported there had been an incident reported asking everyone to evacuate the building No fire alarms went off.
"Court staff, jurors, witnesses and members of the public were all evacuated from the court building."
The evacuation lasted around 10 minutes and later transpired to be a new type of drill. This was confirmed by a police spokesperson.
