Dramatic Crash in Utah Sends Vehicles Tumbling Toward River Below

Heart-stopping dashcam video captured the moment two vehicles collided in Utah’s Big Cottonwood Canyon on Sunday, January 24, sending them over the road’s edge and tumbling down a steep embankment toward a river below.

Footage from Gabriel Zeigle’s dashboard camera shows a pickup truck swerving across lanes and colliding with the side of an oncoming Subaru, throwing both down into the ravine.

Local media reported that the three occupants of the Subaru and the driver of the pickup were able to get out safely on their own. However, a woman in the pickup, which landed in a creek, needed to be carefully extricated by fire crews.

Traffic was closed for several hours along State Route 190 for rescue and recovery operations. The pickup truck was removed from the water using two tow trucks, the Utah Department of Transportation tweeted

Police said three people sustained minor injuries, one person was in fair condition, and one was in serious condition, reported Fox 13 in Salt Lake City.
