Dramatic Firefighter Bodycam Footage Shows Wichita Building Engulfed in Flames

The Wichita Fire Department released dramatic bodycam footage on September 10 of an apartment fire in Wichita, Kansas, that occurred four days earlier and which temporarily displaced residents.

The apartment fire on South Emporia Avenue began early on the morning of September 6. No deaths were reported, the Wichita Fire Department said, but six people, including two firefighters, were treated for injuries on the scene.

Video posted by the fire department shows thick flames billowing from the second and third floors, with heavy fire extending into the attic and roof. Fire crews moved inside the building to put out the flames.

The fire department reported an estimated loss of $200,000 to the structure and $50,000 to the contents. “Those families have a lot to rebuild, but they still have each other,” the department said in a Facebook post. Credit: Wichita Fire Department via Storyful
