Dramatic Footage Of Gang's Jewellery Raid

Police have released dramatic footage of a jewellery raid by six robbers - and the chase that ended with them all in custody.

The gang, who stole Cartier and Rolex watches worth £30,000 before escaping on mopeds, have been jailed for a total of 37 years.

They used picks, axes and sledgehammers to smash their way into the store in Windsor Bishop, Norwich, before threatening guards.

Police were able to track their getaway on 5 August after receiving more than 40 calls from shoppers who had gathered around the shop during the robbery.

In a recording of one 999 call released by police, a woman frantically says: "You need to come quick, they're raiding the jewellers now... hurry!"

Many filmed on their mobile phones as the men mounted their mopeds - with a pillion passenger on each - and weaved through the city's streets.

They then swapped the bikes for a silver transit van and headed down the A11 towards London, where they are all from.

The police helicopter was deployed and the force tracked the robbers to a wood near Thetford.

Detective Constable Katie Barnard said: "Thanks to the prompt calls from the public who witnessed the incident, and the efforts of officers on the ground and in the air, we were able to detain all six suspects within an hour of the first 999 call being made.

"This case is an excellent example of how, by working together with the police, the public has a significant role in helping keep their communities safe."

Alfredo Rojasvagras, 24, Bradley McMillan, 22, Curtis Bradbury, 21, Mark Moloney, 18, Dillon Zambon, 17, all from Islington, and Tommy McKenzie, 25, from Hillingdon, all pleaded guilty to robbery.

McKenzie, McMillan and Rojasvagras each received a six-year jail sentence.

Bradbury was handed an 11-year sentence, while Moloney got five years and Zambon three years in young offenders' institutes.
