Dramatic footage shows car engulfed in flames as fire crews tackle blaze in Yarm

A dramatic video shows a car on fire with thick black smoke billowing from the vehicle.

The footage was taken by Chris Healey in Yarm, on Monday evening and captures firefighters tackling the blaze. Cleveland Fire Brigade rushed to the scene on Nursery Gardens but later confirmed the car sustained "100% damage".

A spokesperson confirmed: “Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on August 12, 2024 at 5:53pm to an incident on Nursery Gardens, Yarm. One fire engine was in attendance from Thornaby. This was a car fire with 100 percent fire damage to the engine. We left the scene at 6:24pm.”

The footage shows the front of the dark coloured vehicle engulfed in flames as thick smoke pours from the car. Firefighters can be seen using a hose to extinguish the flames.
