Dramatic footage shows man racing to help driver after car flips across motorway

A motorist who was accused of road rage after risking his life to save a fellow driver has been cleared after footage emerged of the horrific three-car crash.

Dramatic dashcam video shows the moment Christopher Dye, 27, was clipped by a van on the M62 which then also crashed into another car causing it to flip across the motorway.

Mr Dye, from Sheffield, was initially charged with driving “without due consideration for other road users”.

But the case was thrown out at Bury Magistrates' Court this week.

His car was bumped from behind in May last year by a van, which then hit a light blue Peugeot, causing it to flip on its roof and skid down the carriageway.

The footage sees Mr Dye drive past the van but then his car hits the 90 degree angle and the Peugeot flies past him.

He is then seen running from his car towards the flipped vehicle.
