Dramatic Lightning Fills Inky Sky Over Gulf of Trieste

A storm chaser captured a spectacular lightning show above the Gulf of Trieste in Italy as the area was hit by severe storms earlier this month.

Timelapse footage shot by Maximilian Ziegler, who is part of a German storm-chasing collective called Unwetter-Freaks, shows the lightning dancing dramatically across the inky night sky.
