Dramatic video shows car smash into Sports Direct shop in Bath

Dramatic footage shows the moment a car crashes into the side of a building in Bath. The video, taken outside Westgate Buildings, shows the car reverse into the side of a store, before crashing into four vehicles as it attempted to leave the scene.

The car smashed into a Sports Direct store on Friday, January 17. Around 2.01pm, police received reports that a car crashed with a bus, two parked vehicles and a building.

Photos taken at the scene at Westgate Buildings showed part of a wall smashed in of the Sport Direct building. One car taken away on the back of a truck with a dented bumper, and another with a damaged door.

One man was taken to hospital following the incident. It is not thought that anyone sustained any serious injuries.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "“We were called at 2.01pm to reports a car had collided with a bus, two parked vehicles and a building in Westgate Buildings in Bath.

“Officers attended alongside the ambulance service. A man was taken to hospital but no one is believed to have suffered any serious injuries. The road was briefly closed but has since reopened.”
