Drink-driver caught more than three times over the limit
A man whose car was stopped by police was more than three times over the drink drive limit.
Thomas Hampl, whose address was given as Lornton Walk in Dorchester, appeared before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 20 where he admitted one charge of driving a motor vehicle whilst over the legal limit.
Hampl, 32, was stopped on South Court Avenue - just half a mile from his home address - with 117 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg per 100ml.
Mr Richard MacRae, Chair of the Magistrates’ Bench, imposed a community order on Hampl requiring him to complete 60 hours of unpaid work.
He has been disqualified from driving for a period of two years and two months, been ordered to pay a £114 surcharge to fund victim services and £85 in costs but wasn’t issued with a separate fine for the offence.
