Driver carrying hedge from Badminton Horse Trials stopped by police

A driver was stopped by police for having a Badminton Horse Trial hedge hanging out of her car window. The vehicle was pulled over in Wiltshire on Monday (May 13).

Police said the hedge was blocking her near side view and presented a significant safety risk. The hedge was a fence from the Badminton Horse Trials which was held at Badminton Estate in South Gloucestershire from Wednesday, May 8 until Sunday, May 12.

A picture shared on social media shows the hedge stuffed in the passenger seat of the car. The driver has been reported.

Wiltshire Police said in a post on X: "This driver thought it was acceptable to drive with a hedge in the car completely blocking any view on the near side (it was a fence from Badminton Horse Trials). Unfortunately, she didn’t make it to the finish line after being stopped by #RPU."
