Driver Crashes Into Restaurant's Patio in LA County

Two people narrowly avoided injury as a driver crashed their vehicle into an outdoor dining patio in Sierra Madre, in California’s Los Angeles County, on Wednesday evening, January 11.

Security footage from The Only Place In Town, a restaurant at 110 West Sierra Madre Boulevard, near Auburn Avenue, shows the moment the car slammed into barriers, or K-rails, separating the patio from the road, crashing just feet away from two people walking through the patio.

Police said the 77-year-old driver and a passenger sustained minor injuries, according to local media.

General manager William Kefalas told Storyful the restaurant remained open as authorities responded and cleared the wreckage. The restaurant, including the patio, was open as normal on Thursday, Kefalas added. Credit: TheOnlyPlaceInTown.com via Storyful
