A driver has been caught going more than 30mph over the speed limit on an NI motorway.

NI Road Policing and Safety team shared that its Mahon Road team recorded a driver going 105mph on the M1 near Moira in the afternoon of Saturday, September 21.

They reported that the driver has only had their licence for a 'little' over one year and may face disqualification after appearing in court.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Roads Policing Unit Officers based out of Mahon Road have in the last 5 minutes detected a vehicle on the M1 near Moira at a whopping speed of 105mph.

"This driver who has been driving little over a year will now have a day in Court and faces possible disqualification."
