The driver of a £130,000 car fled after losing control and crashing into several objects, according to police.

Detectives are looking for the person who was behind the wheel of the white Audi R8 Spyder V10 at the time of the smash in Stretford, Greater Manchester.

The supercar suffered severe damage to its front and a broken rear bumper.

On Twitter, Greater Manchester Police wrote: "Single vehicle road traffic collision in @GMPStretford, this Audi R8 Spyder collided with several items of street furniture after losing control and veering off the road.

"Surprisingly, the driver didn't stick around. Vehicle recovered for forensic exam."

The R8 Spyder V10 went on sale in 2016 with prices starting from £129,990.
