Driver 'Lucky to Be Alive' After Scaffolding Pin Smashes Into Windshield
A man driving home from work had a lucky escape on September 6, after a scaffolding pin came off a trailer and flew into his windshield on an interstate near Meredith, New Hampshire.
Lee Bavis’s dashboard camera recorded the moment the piece of metal flew into the windshield of his son Hunter’s pickup truck.
Talking to local media, Bavis said that his son was “lucky to be alive”.
“I’ve seen a lot of accidents. He’s lucky it didn’t come through and hit him. He’s pretty calm and collected. He handled himself pretty well. He did a wonderful job.”
Bavis told Storyful that Hunter and the other driver stopped and exchanged insurance information. They then called New Hampshire State Police and filed an official report. Credit: Lee Bavis via Storyful
