Driver in Royal Stoke after ambulances scrambled to Tunstall smash
Two ambulances have been scrambled to a rush-hour Potteries smash which has left one motorist in hospital. Emergency services were sent to High Street in Tunstall - near the Furlong Road junction - to reports of a two-car smash this morning.
Now West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed one motorist was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital - while two other patients were able to be discharged at the scene. The collision - which involved a Toyota Prius and a Renault Captur - occurred just before 8.20am.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called to reports of a two-car road traffic collision on High Street, Tunstall. Two ambulances attended the scene. On arrival we discovered three patients. A man, who was the driver of one of the cars, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. A second man, who was also a driver, and a woman, who was a passenger, were assessed and discharged at the scene."
