Driver stabbed in Birmingham ‘carjacking’ with three boys arrested
A man was stabbed in a 'carjacking' in a Birmingham street in the early hours with three boys arrested following a high-speed pursuit. The incident took place at the junction of Gravelly Lane and Mona Road in Erdington, close to the railway station, shortly before 3am on Saturday (November 9).
West Midlands Police officers were called to the scene and found a man who had been knifed in the leg and who had had his car stolen. Officers then pursued the ‘stolen’ car, which was driven at more than 100 miles per hour.
The driver is said to have rammed several police cars but was eventually stopped. Three boys inside, one aged 14 and two aged 15 were arrested and are being questioned by officers.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Three teenagers are in custody today after a man was stabbed in Birmingham. We were called to the junction of Gravelly Lane and Mona Road shortly before 3am Saturday (November 9) after a man was found with leg injuries having had his car stolen.
“Officers attended and pursued the suspected stolen car, which was being driven at speeds in excess of 100mph. The car was used to ram several police cars but was stopped, with the three occupants arrested.
“The trio, one aged 14 and two aged 15, remain in custody at this time while our enquiries continue.”
