Driver told police she was speeding because the wind was pushing her

Drivers who are caught speeding can come up with all sorts of excuses – but this one is a whopper.

An unnamed female motorist was pulled over in Three Springs, Western Australia, for going 10mph over the speed limit – throttling her car at 78mph in a 68mph zone.

Police officers were probably expecting nothing more than a simple admission or, at best, an excuse about being in a hurry to get somewhere because of an emergency.

However, the woman came up with an excuse that the police – and no one else – was expecting.

The driver blamed the WIND – telling officers that it pushed her car so that it went over the speed limit.

Three Springs were so taken aback by the excuse that they shared the citation on their Twitter page.

They wrote alongside: “And the excuse of the day goes to…”

Sadly for the driver, police were not convinced by her response and fined her £120 and took two points off her license.
