A motorist has been 'reported' by police after a smash on a collision-plagued Potteries street. Police were called out to Longton's Bridgewood Street on Monday night to reports of a smash which had left debris over the road.

StokeonTrentLive reported at the time how fed-up residents claimed it represented the third collision in as many days. Now Staffordshire Police have confirmed one driver has been reported over the collision.

The smash occurred at the junction with Anchor Terrace and Goddard Street at around 6.20pm on November 18.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called to Anchor Terrace following reports of a collision involving a silver VW Golf and a black Hyundai. Highways were made aware due to excess debris left in the area following the collision. The driver of the Golf was spoken to by officers and reported for driving offences. Recovery for both of the vehicles was arranged at the scene."

Any witnesses to the collision should call the police on 101.
