More than 100 flights were delayed at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida on December 23 after a night of heavy thunderstorms.
The airport was closed for a number of hours due to flooding as a result of the storms, while 123 flights were delayed and six were canceled at the airport by Monday morning.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said a series of storms swept through Miami-Dade and Broward counties after midnight on Monday, and the NWS reported six to eight inches of rainfall at the airport.
