Drivers face 20-minute diversion for weekend road closure due to Cambridgeshire level crossing work
A busy Cambridgeshire road is set to be closed throughout the weekend to allow Network Rail to work at a level crossing. Lynn Road, Ely, will be shut to traffic at the level crossing.
The closure will come into force at 11pm on Friday, September 20. The road is then expected to reopen by 4am on Monday, September 23.
A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said: "Lynn Road, Ely (at the level crossing) will be CLOSED both ways to all traffic between the 20th Sept at 11pm – 23rd Sept at 4am due to works by Network Rail."

The suggested diversion route is via Lynn Road, Ely Road, Grange Lane and Downham Road - with Cambridgeshire Council estimating it will take around 21 minutes. Quicker routes may be available for smaller vehicles.
