Drivers face delays on A720 city bypass following crash

Motorists in Edinburgh have been hit with traffic snarl-ups following a smash on the city bypass.

The prang occurred shortly after 2.15pm at Calder Junction heading westbound on Saturday, May 25. Motorists were cautioned to brace for hold-ups and to exercise caution when nearing the scene.

First responders rushed to the site of the accident, with tailbacks expected to last around 14 minutes. The extent of any injuries has not been disclosed.

In a post on X, previously known as Twitter, Traffic Scotland alerted: "A720 westbound is currently experiencing delays of approx 14 minutes due to a collision. Minimal delays eastbound."

"Please take care on approach and use alternative routes," reports Edinburgh Live.

Enquiries have been made to Police Scotland for further details.
