Drivers have been advised that a busy Nottingham route used by thousands of workers will be partially closed for five nights. Nottingham City Council has explained road and pavement resurfacing works will be taking place on Thane Road, which links Nottingham and Beeston through health and beauty giant Boots' headquarters, from Tuesday, May 28 to the early hours of Sunday, June 2.

Maintenance will be carried out on the busy road between its junction with Bull Close Road up to and including the mini-roundabout that forms the junction of Thane Road/Abbeyfield Road and Lenton Lane, officials said. Road closures will be required and will be in operation between 8pm and 4am.

Access to businesses and facilities on Lenton Lane will be maintained from the A52 island, while Abbeyfield Road will be closed at its junction with Thane Road and will instead be accessible via Redfield Road. Traffic heading back south from the Redfield Road area on the A52/A453 will have to follow a diversion route via Dunkirk Roundabout.
