Drivers have been warned to expect delays as the fuselage of an aircraft is given a police escort on major Gloucestershire roads at the weekend. The abnormal load will travel through Cirencester on its way to Cotswold Airport in Kemble at around 9am on Sunday (November 24).

The aircraft fuselage requires the escort by officers as it is 40 metres long and 4.5 metres wide, Gloucestershire police said. The escort will travel along the A419 from Cirencester before joining the A429 where it will move to the final destination of Kemble Airfield.

Whilst traffic disruption will be kept to a minimum, motorists are advised to avoid this route during the relevant times or plan their journey times accordingly.
