Drone footage captures pod of whales breaching and forming 'rainbows' off California's coast

Drone footage captures a pod of whales off the coast of Newport Harbour breaching and forming rainbows with the splashes made.

The filmer told Newsflare: "We had an awesome experience on our whale watching boats today as six south-bound migrating gray whales appeared about 5 miles off the coast of Newport Harbor.

"We noticed some of the whales rolling around, touching bellies [might be a sign of possible courtship] and one whale proceeded to breach up to seven times right in front of us!

"You can even see beautiful rainbows reflecting from their spouts- we call them ‘rainblows!'"
