Drone footage shows Yorkshire's shrinking Lindley Wood Reservoir after heatwave and dry spell

Drone footage shot on Sunday 7 August showed how much Lindley Wood Reservoir in North Yorkshire has shrunk since the UK's recent dry spell began. The UK has recently emerged from a heatwave and has not had sustained rain for so long that many parts of the country are facing drought conditions. The reservoir is used by Yorkshire Water to supply drinking water to Leeds and the surrounding areas. It has shrunk significantly, with much of the reservoir basin now visible as bare ground.
